1. Who is responsible for your information

ShopPilot AI is operated by FlameCore Technology Limited. We act as the data controller for personal information processed directly through this website. You can contact us at support@shoppilotai.store.

2. Information we collect

• Account information: your name, email address, securely hashed password, account role, preferences, favorites, and price alerts.
• Shopping activity: searches, product comparisons, saved products, chat messages, recommendation interactions, and selected budgets or interests.
• Communications: newsletter choices, alert subscriptions, support messages, and email delivery records.
• Affiliate activity: the product, offer, and merchant associated with an outbound purchase link, together with the signed-in account when applicable.
• Technical and security data: request timestamps, browser-provided information, server logs, and shortened cryptographic hashes derived from IP addresses for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
• Device preferences: cookie consent, display theme, and an optional guest conversation identifier when you allow functional storage.

Please do not place sensitive personal, financial, health, or identity information in shopping questions.

3. Why we use information

We use information to provide accounts and requested features, answer shopping questions, rank products and offers, save preferences, deliver alerts, secure the service, measure service performance, attribute affiliate referrals, comply with legal duties, and improve ShopPilot.

Depending on the activity and applicable law, our legal basis is performance of a service you request, your consent, compliance with law, or our legitimate interests in operating a secure and useful shopping service. You may withdraw consent for optional device storage at any time through Cookie settings.

4. AI-assisted recommendations

ShopPilot currently uses a local rules-based recommendation engine. When an external AI provider is enabled, relevant shopping prompts, recent conversation context, and candidate product information may be sent to that provider to generate a response. We instruct providers to use supplied product data and not invent prices or specifications. Do not submit sensitive personal information in a prompt.

5. When information is shared

We may share limited information with hosting, database, cache, email, AI, automation, analytics, security, and support providers that process information for us. When you follow a merchant link, that merchant and its affiliate network may receive referral identifiers and information generated by your visit. Their own privacy policies then apply.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect users or the service, during a legitimate corporate transaction, or with your direction. ShopPilot does not sell your personal information for money.

6. International processing and security

Some service providers or merchants may process information outside Nigeria. Where required, we use contractual, technical, and organisational safeguards intended to protect transferred information. ShopPilot uses encrypted transport, access controls, hashed passwords, secure session cookies, rate limits, backups, and restricted production credentials. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including providing your account, resolving disputes, preventing abuse, meeting accounting or legal obligations, and establishing or defending legal claims. Retention depends on the type of information, sensitivity, risk, account status, and applicable requirements. We delete or anonymise information when it is no longer required.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, information about recipients, or withdrawal of consent. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or another competent supervisory authority.

9. Children

ShopPilot is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information should contact us.

10. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy when ShopPilot, our providers, or legal requirements change. We will publish the revised date and provide additional notice when a change materially affects your rights.
